The Bay Area Crisis Nursery offers 30 days of free Crisis Care Services to young children ages birth through 5. We know that parenting can be overwhelming especially when families are faced with a crisis and don’t have anyone they can turn to for help. We believe that every family should have access to a safe haven for their children when life becomes difficult. Parents faced with emergencies such as homelessness, domestic or community violence, health crisis, lack of utilities, entering a treatment program, or experiencing overwhelming parental stress can reach out to the Nursery to access Crisis Care Services. Children can stay with us for 24 hours and up to 30 days per crisis. We provide children with everything they need during their stay. They have their own bed, food, diapers, clothing, and personal care items. Families are welcome to visit the Nursery while their children stay with us and take your children on day trips.

We accept referrals from hospitals, children and family services, nonprofit organizations, case managers, homeless services, domestic violence organizations, and anyone who is trying to help a parent get through a tough time.

Thanks to several partnerships and private funding, the Nursery can offer free emergency childcare for low-income families. Funding is provided in part by Contra Costa County, the City of Antioch, the City of Concord, and the Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund.
