Keeping Our Nursery Safe

COV-19

To our Community of Clients and Supporters,

The news surrounding COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) continues to concern all of us. First and foremost is our interest around maintaining the health, safety, and wellbeing of our children, families, staff, and volunteers while continuing to serve such a vulnerable population of children birth through age 5. We will be taking the following precautionary measures to ensure that we continue to support families while this situation continues to unfold.

Prevention Measures

All our staff and volunteers are encouraged to take basic preventive measures recommended by the CDC to avoid exposure to—and the spread of—the virus. We have advised staff who feel ill or have family members who are not feeling well to stay home. Staff members are being asked to check their temperature before their shift and properly wash hands when arriving at the Nursery. We have implemented social distancing. We continue to properly disinfect the Nursery daily and use best practices for the prevention of infectious disease and food handling.

Client Services

Contra Costa County has issued a shelter-in-place. The Nursery services are considered an “Essential Business,” as we provide shelter and social services. We will be limiting our services to crisis care only. We will not provide stress breaks or respite care services until April 6, 2020. This decision was made for the safety of our children and families.

Nursery Visitors & Donations

Until further notice, we will not offer Nursery tours or accept gently used in-kind donations. We have discontinued our Nursery volunteer program and ask that volunteers please stay home and take care of yourself and your family. If you would like to support the Nursery, please consider a tax-deductible donation.
